3:53 am	"Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." 40 years ago today something incredible was happening 385,000 km from Earth. I have only a foggy recollection of the events but am optimistic that we will revisit the moon again in my lifetime. 8:17 pm	OVFF 2008 Photos on flickr So my first time at OVFF was a complete blast. Had a great time hanging out with friends and meeting all sorts of wonderful people. Music and singing was awesome throughout - concerts, open filk, farewell jam, dead dog. One personal highlight was the Sunday night Hallway Filk anchored by Teresa, Andrea, Jodi and 'unfiltered' Mary - words cannot express the awesomeness! Took a lot of photos ...... no I mean a LOT of photos - I think I might have had some residual photographer compulsivity left over from Erin and Rand's wedding. :-D Just under 500 photos are up in my OVFF 2008 flickr set. I usually don't post so many similar photos but the variety of facial expressions and various actions in these photos justifies it, at least IMO. :-) Hope you enjoy them! 12:20 pm	Erin & Rand's Wedding - Photos - The Wedding Sorry for the delay but here finally are my photos from the wedding. As I posted earlier, the wedding/reception venue was one of the hardest places I've ever shot photos because of the mixed bag of lighting. There are several photos in this set that I normally would have axed because they are technically poor - but for the wedding that qualifier takes a back seat to trying to capture as many of the moments as possible. 3:32 am	Erin & Rand's Wedding - Photos - The Rehearsal ohiblather explains in her entry about wedding photography how she and I came to be the semi-official photographers for Erin & Rand's wedding. Two things that Debbie touches on but I should re-iterate in greater detail are that (1)she was the official primary photographer to the bride and groom; I, a mere apprentice, was the second shooter working on complementary shots during the service and pre and post wedding 'colour' shots at other times; and (2) that the hall was a lighting nightmare with a mix of bright daylight (streaming in through widely spaced floor to ceiling windows), randomly oriented sporadic track mounted incandescent spotlights and floodlights, and the many blackholes where there was neither a window nor light fixture nearby. I have found the volume of photos that I now have to cull, crop and/or tweak a bit overwhelming but will try to get a new set up each day over the next few days.
